America wants all countries to release comprehensive information for assessment of a Visa application.
America has announced that it wants to oblige all countries to release comprehensive information to assess visa applications for the US. This will also prevent terrorists from being eligible for a Visa to US.
Criminal background
Most likely, no extensive information is required from applicants, except from those who are suspected of terrorism or people with a criminal background. Of these, biometric and biographical data will be requested.
Countries cooperate
There are consequences when countries do not want to cooperate with this US measure or do not give permission within fifty days. One of the consequences may be that some residents of the non-authorised country will be denied access to the US.
Trump’s travel ban
This measure is part of the entry ban, which was partially introduced in June. However, Trump was disappointed again because the Supreme Court decided that people who have relatives in America couldn’t be refused. The supreme judges who agreed to partially introduce the travel ban decided that people with grandparents, grandmothers and other relatives in America should be allowed to enter. People whose children, spouses and parents live in America had already been accepted.
Positive result for Trump
Trump did not only get disappointed, he also got a little victory. The Court rejected a verdict of a lower court, which wanted to open the borders for thousands of refugees in the coming months. The verdict is awaiting appeal, which has been submitted at the San Francisco Court. In October this year, they will look further at the arguments for a travel ban.
