Apply for ESTA

Applications can be submitted at any time before your trip to the USA. We advise that you request your ESTA application approximately one month before your departure date or at least 72 hours before commencing your trip.

When you apply for ESTA USA you need a valid passport for the application ESTA form and a debit or credit card for the payment.

ESTA APPLICATION IN 5 SIMPLE STEPS:

Step 1: Personal data of the applicant: It is essential that your personal details correspond exactly with what is written on your passport.

Step 2: Passport details: Your passport must be valid for at least the planned duration of your stay in the United States.

Step 3: Employer data: This step is not required for completion but if known it, you can provide your employer information.

Step 4: Contact point or details of your address during your stay: This step is not required for completion but if do known it, you can fill in the address details of your contact point in the USA or the address details for your stay.

Step 5: General safety issues related to your past: In this section, some questions regarding your past and health can be found. These are merely standard mandatory conditions that need to be met. The personal information you submit is confidential and will only be viewed and inspected by an authorised person within the USA government.

At esta-applications.uk you can apply for multiple ESTA for more individuals. It is officially required to apply for a unique ESTA for each person wanting to travel to the USA. Always make sure the personal information is filled in correctly to prevent problems during your trip.

The USA government could use the maximum of 72 hours to issue a travel permit. Usually ESTA USA makes a decision within a few hours, but in some cases it may take up to 72 hours before the decision is made.

Your ESTA Visa will be electronically registered when you apply with your passport. The passport number will be connected to your ESTA, so you do not need proof of your approved ESTA America. We do advise you though to print off our mail with confirmation of the approved ESTA and take that with you.

The ESTA Visa authorisation is linked to your passport. Therefore please make sure before you travel that you bring the same passport, which you used for your application. In the case you need a new passport after the assigned ESTA, your ESTA will no longer be valid with your new passport. You will therefore have to reapply for a new ESTA authorisation.

What are the passport requirements during application?

Your passport must be valid for as long as the duration of your stay in the US (departure date of your return + 1 day). However, the duration of your stay cannot be longer than 90 days. You may enter the country several times within 2 years (as long as your ESTA and your passport you originally requested ESTA with, are still valid). The USA ESTA authorisation is linked to your passport. Therefore please make sure before you travel that you bring the same passport, which you used for your application. In the case you might need a new passport after the application, your ESTA will no longer be valid with your new passport. You will therefore have to reapply for a new ESTA authorisation.

Applications can be submitted at any time before your trip to the USA. We advise that you request your ESTA approximately one month before your departure date or at least 72 hours before commencing your trip. In case you would need to do a US Visa application instead of an ESTA Visa, you will have enough time. The process for US Visa application approximately usually takes up between 2 and 4 weeks in total.

How long will it take before I get my ESTA sent to my e-mail address?

Right after your ESTA application, we will send your USA ESTA to your e-mail address, which is usually within a couple of hours. The USA government could use the maximum of 72 hours to issue a travel permit. Usually an ESTA is assigned for within a few hours, but in some cases it may take up to 72 hours before the decision is made.

I have obtained a new passport, is my ESTA authorisation still valid?

No, if you have obtained a new passport within the validity of your ESTA Visa, you will need to make a new ESTA application. This means you will not be able to transfer your ESTA Visa to your new passport

Can I get a copy of my ESTA by mail, and will it be sent to my address?

Yes, we can send a copy of your ESTA to your address. We will charge a service and mail fee of 4 pounds.

I have not received my ESTA authorisation within 72 hours, what should I do?

We would suggest you phone our helpdesk or send us an email if you have not received the ESTA Visa authorisation. If you then tell us your personal reference number, we will be able to help you more effectively. It will allow us to check and find the cause of this. You can find your personal reference number in your confirmation e-mail.

My ESTA authorisation has not been approved, what should I do?

If an ESTA authorisation has not not accepted you would be obliged to apply for a non-immigrant US Visa application (for business B1 and for tourists B2). Refusal of an ESTA would mean no permission to travel based on the Visa Waiver Programme. So this would not exclude a US Visa application. If you choose a US Visa application you still have the opportunity to enter the USA with the US Visa.

In case you need to fill in 'yes' at the Eligibility Questions section (during step 5) it is very likely that your US ESTA will not be approved. In that case we advise you to apply for a US Visa.

Reasons behind disapproval of an ESTA application could be in case:

-You stayed longer in the US than the maximum length of stay;

-Your entrance to the US has been refused;

-You have a criminal record;

-You have travelled on the Visa Waiver Programme and you did not proceed in accordance with the rules of the Visa Waiver Programme;

For more information about procedures for application of Visa please see the website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel.html.
